Self-respect cannot be hunted. It cannot be purchased. It is never for sale. …..It cannot be fabricated out of public relations. It comes to us when we are
alone, in quiet moments, in quiet places, when e suddenly realize that, knowing the good, we have done it; knowing the beautiful, we have served it; knowing the
truth we have spoken it.
Respect your efforts, respect yourself. Self-respect leads to self-discipline and when you have both firmly under your belt, that’s real power! If you want to be respected by others the great thing is to respect yourself. Only by that, only by self-respect will you compel others to respect you as well….
Lastly…… ( for the moment ) ……………….
It is the highest form of self-respect to admit our errors and mistakes and make ends for them. To make a mistake is only an error in judgment, but to adhere
to it when it is discovered shows infirmity of character…
In life we face many challenges. Some are great and some are small. When we consider the many areas that affect our lives, such as our health, family, finances and spirituality, wisdom is something that we all need.
Wisdom is defined as learning acquired over a period of time : b: ability to see beneath the surface of things :c: good sense :: a wise attitude, belief, or course of action according to Merriam Webster dictionary.
The ability to make the best informed decision at any given time can save us and our families much pain and heartache. The Bible King James Version states Proverbs 4:7 as follows… “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” This scripture tells us that first we need to recognize the importance of wisdom. It is vital to our very existence.
The ending part of Proverbs 4:7 states, “That with all thy getting get an understanding.” It does absolutely no good to hear information but not understand it enough to apply it to your life in the situations that you face. In essence it’s useless. For example how many times have we sat in a classroom or a meeting and the lecturer has presented information and they ask if anyone has questions please raise your hand? No one raised their hand, but soon as they leave the meeting they find themselves asking others, “What are we supposed to do” or “How are we supposed to do it,” that was not a wise decision. When we consider the affects that our actions and decisions can have on our lives we must practice wise choices.
Knowing that I have the ability to gain knowlege and little nuggets from several people from all ages and walks of life is a blessing………… Don’t’ be neglectful to search the scriptures, communicate with other knowledgeable people and to pray to God for direction that is needed to handle your life situations and circumstances.
