Remember WHEN you were little boys and all you wanted was your dad to come around and hang out with you or come to one of your games? Do you remember how it made you feel?? Well just think about how you are making your son or daughter feel when you don’t come around..
Is it fair to penalize your kids because of what your dad did to you?? STOP THE CYCLE OF NEGLECT and ABANDONMENT BECAUSE THE FRUIT OF IT IS A BROKEN CHILD… Even if your unsure how to be a dad let the interaction between you and your child teach you…..
Know that if you are reading this that you are already doing well. You were able to see another day that you have never seen before. So enjoy your day….
God indeed is in the blessing business and I always find myself being more grateful for the little things that He allows to happen for me / to me etc. So I have indeed learned to Enjoy my day!
Just LIFE in general has enough rewards to never really even desire the things that we THINK that we want. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy tangible things as well BUT, at this point in my life NATURALLY and SPIRITUALLY, I’m sorta over it all… Yes, I’m gonna enjoy my day!
After all the material things like cars, purses, dining out etc.. what’s left? Yes!!!! I’d LOVE to travel THE world, but GUESS what!!, I Am 41 years old and have not and I’m still fine! Go and enjoy your day!!
This is an email that I obtained below…. BOY, did it make my HEART so glad…..
Hello Ms. Coleman,
Jared has been asking about playing drum set ALL year. We have not yet had the opportunity to try it in class until today. Not only did he demonstrate his skills, but he helped other students in the percussion section how to play what he’s learned. Today, Jared was a ROCK STAR! I was so proud of his patience and control during class today. The other kids were also really impressed!
I’ve told him that anytime we need a drum-set player that I’ll be requesting him.
Have a great weekend,
GMS Band Director
Time to contemplate on our life, Our experiences and our choices past;
Time to look back, and reflect on what we have learned Without fear or confusion.
For only each of us knows our own personal thoughts; Our unique past and personal history;
The experiences that brought us to the crossroads we now face.
We can always learn a small degree from others experiences, And yet … no one person can walk in our shoes, Others know not, the trials and tribulations faced in private …
For each is individual … unique … and personal. And that is why … while standing at a crossroads,
Only “we” can formulate the decision for ourselves; The true direction that lies within;
The choices we must deliberate on with clarity and wisdom.
For it is only through personal reflection, That we can now choose our destiny;
… Our next adventure; … And the future we will embrace.
I am so blessed and honored to be the mother of such an incredible AND Interesting child!
My son last night just made me so proud when I drove up to the fire station in our community, I almost teared up! LOL
They station was actually getting ready to go out on a call and I saw my son lifting the lever to allow the trucks to drive out made me think of the hit TV shows Chicago Fire and Third Watch!
Raising a child alone can become a bit interesting BUT raising an African American boy can be a tad bit more challenging as well. BUT GUESS WHAT! !!, With God all things are possible and my son and I are enjoying this beautiful experience together! !
I keep getting stronger and stronger every day and I’m grateful to have a son like this!!!
