Is Being Bored A Bad Thing?

How to Be a Happy Single Womanthumbnail

One day, I will get a change to do this!! I YES! By the looks of the photo above, I am thinking that being bored would be a GREAT IDEA for me! I want to know what it will feel like not to have any meetings to go to via church, attend any church nightly services, political things, Parent Teacher Conferences, my son won’t have to go to baseballl, basketball or soccer practice – When that day happens – I will just post a blog with a huge smile on my face!

Some people complain about being bored or super bored…. Well listen, what does that FEEL LIKE? Please let me try it! I don’t want to hear a cell phone ringing  ( and I have 3 that I use for different things ) I don’t want to hear my home telephone ring, I wont check any emails and I will tell my son to even cut off his cell phone and to just go in his room and read a book!

Lord….Anoint My Hands!

Had to go to my friend’s church so he could let me LAY on his B3 Hammond Organ and ANOINT ME AND MY FINGERS in his church pulpit! LOL The pastor of course is trying to teach me but I seem to be able to play by ear which is what I DO NOT WANT TO DO. Good musicians play ” by ear ” but GREAT musicians can READ music and WRITE notes! My son has a ” GOOD EAR ” for musical notes and will play a beat after he hears it and trust me!!! We have gone through so many instruments that it is driving me BONKERS…

He did the drums for almost 2 years and then he got tired of it and wanted something DIFFERENT – So he jumped onto the guitar and that did not last too long then he wanted the clarinet and that did not last too long…. then he asked about the TUBA!! Like boy are you serious…. ME OR YOU will not be DRAGGING that huge thing around…..

Geeesh… then he “stumbled upon” the percussion instruments and had an intrest with them and I IMMEDIATELY told him to try out the trumpet. I thought about my brother Dee who used to play and he was good… I recall being at church and listening AND watching his friends Peter….Keith and Spencer just play for HOURS…… and them boys never seemed to look or even get tired!

Well anyway…my son OF COURSE in this area did not listen to his mom and he went for the Tenor Sax which I said ok…. I played some youtube videos of Kenny G and other artists and he said that the Tenor Sax would be his instrument for the next2 years….

Well can ANYONE tell me why he is currently banging on the drums as I am blogging this? I thought we were done with the drums?… Ugghhh – back to his “PICK OF INSTRUMENTS” FOR THE MONTH – LOL

He now wants to do the sax and the trumpet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whew, I fussed at this boy so much……so loud and so long that he ALMOST said okay mom, never mind about the trumpet. Now I am ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL for my son being creative and desiring to participate in almost anything but he has to pick and stick!!!!  I told him that he could pick two instruments and he said that he wanted to do the saxophone, the trumpet AND drums?

I guess he cant count today-

PT Conference, Here I Come!

On my way to pick up my baby to head to his little 5th grade Parent / Teacher Conference…. Please let EVERYTHING be of a good report! He has been blessed to have been on Honor Roll since he has been in Pre – K.

Well, Math is something he is very good in and I would have to give that gene credit to his father….. He aces math like its nobody’s business! I think math is ” alright ” I guess…. However, I think that my son’s father may have been just a little gifted in math which has made my homework time with my son EASY………Thank goodness.

Wish me well and if all goes welll, this conference should be a fly by night meeting that last no longer than 30 minutes AT TOPS!

Drum roll PLEASE……….

Dear ( ME )

fingers that speak!

I really wish that I did not QUIT playing the guitar when I was in middle school because music has the ability to bring life to a lot of dead situations. From elementary school, to middle school to high school, I have played a few instruments but did not stick with none of them and it still bothers me to this day!

That is why I stay on my son via his dedication and hard work with sticking with things that interest him. He has played the drums, the tenor saxophone and the piano and has enjoyed them all. Having the ability to USE YOUR FINGERS to make a sound that can make a person feel better, nod their heads, think about love, pray, sing etc is an amazing thing!!!

band practice

Ugg….. as much as I complained not feeling like taking my son to band practice tonite, im sure glad that I did.. Seeing him in action playing his tenor sax made me soooo proud…

Now tonight is his weekly all boys Christian Kids Club activity at church and this ministry at this church is AMAZING!!! However, im sooo tired and my son if course will want to go… I am going to look into Nannies!

Seeing my son play the saxophone just reminds me of yet ANOTHER thing that I used to do when I was younger that I wish that I would have stuck to!! I played the saxophone and the guitar and stopped because I started liking boys and wanted to become popular of all reasons! Whew, peer pressure and trying to find my own way certainly got me off course! Nonetheless, almost being 40 years of age, there is NO need to stress about what I should have done differently from elementary and middle school! I can just continue to support my baby do any and everything that he wants to DO AND TRY!
