My Sister – Friend……

I have to say I have one of the best sisters in the world. We are best buddies, we have built a friendship that has been intended to last forever. Have we always got along? Absolutely not!!!! We fought, slapped, griped, connived, deceived and a bunch of other unmentionables. Why are we best friends? Distance, Pain and Love – that’s why! I was a spoiled BRAT as a child – shame on ME.

But there is no reason why sisters should not be close…..I mean well, why not? Although, GOD KNOWS that we are very different from one another, but yet share the same blood, that is one good reason to love each other. Even though I feel that I was a “mean girl” to her when I was 12 years old and wanted to cause her pain….. love soon resolved the matter and we tearfully made it right and moved on. A moment of forgiveness is more powerful than years of resentment, refrain, abandonment, discord, degrading and avoiding.

There is a certain amount of love and commitment when you are of kindred blood, but if that isn’t enough then we have to selflessly invest into the relationship and be a die-hard mediator that pursues unity. Oh, I almost forgot to say that I love her and feels that she indeed is pretty awesome! LOL

Memorial Day weekend has brought violence to Chicago, with six killed and at least 22 wounded so far, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

On Friday evening a 17-year-old girl was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, and an 18-year-old man was shot in the chest in the same incident. Later that night another man was shot and killed.

On Saturday, Gregory Dixon, 29, was shot to death about half a mile from President Barack Obama’s Kenwood neighborhood home. Dixon buzzed the gunmen into the apartment building himself, according to police. The attackers then entered through a door left ajar and shot Dixon in the chest and back.

Also on Saturday, and 18-year-old man was shot in the head in a possible drive-by.

On Sunday, police responded to a disturbance call and found Malcolm Dobbey, 27, shot to death in a backyard. Detectives were questioning a “person of interest” in the fatal shooting, but no charges had been brought as of Sunday evening.

Charles Jones, 42, the manager of a gentleman’s club, was shot and killed during an incident in which a Buick LaCrosse sideswiped Jones’ Maserati. When Jones pulled over to confront the other motorist, the driver and a passenger walked to another vehicle and then came back. One of them had a gun and shot Jones dead, police said. A 42-year-old woman in his car was wounded by a shot to the hip or back.

5 Things

Character – Strength – Intelligence – Spirituality – Education

These are the main core things that I was raised on and they still seem to “seep out of me” very strongly. They are all needed to be productive in life and whatever “main stream society” that you reside in.

I am still “working on” these 5 things because honestly, they have molded me into the woman that I am “presently” and still growing into.

My character has “stayed in tact” regardless of  the negative darts that the enemy has tried to throw my way.

My strength has allowed me not to fall into “divers temptations”…and remind myself that prayer STILL works even when “I see”  NO change.

My spirituality has kept me from losing my mind via my trials & major tribulations with the wisdom seeds from God.

My education has introduced me to employment opportunities.

My intelligence has kept me  in front of the line in almost everything that I have been interested in.

YES!…..There are indeed multiple other things that are needed and can be used to help develop a productive woman and man… Remember, everyone was / is being raised differently.

However, just sitting here thinking – I realized that these have been the 5 MAIN focal attributes “in MY life” from childhood to present. I will always need improvement but now – I am not “too shabby”.. LOL

My God Father

Nothing too major besides that he has really helped me throughout the last 20 years of my life that’s all! LOL  He is also a pastor which also kinda helps huh?  Just kidding but his wisdom and guidance has always blessed me and im grateful.

Especially talking with him today about my 18 1/2 year old twins who has LITERALLY stressed me out since they were 12 1/2 years old!  However, God is simply amazing and I cant understand His ways but I sure nuff can follow them… I trust God so I will be ok!
