Jaylen C. Coleman
Darrell, you and my son Jaylen were like brothers and I wish that I could come home and see you asleep on my couch again!!!!! Although you are no longer here to share your smile with us….. just know that my son and your brother / friend misses you dearly. June 23, 2011 changed the lives of soooo many people because that is the night that you were taken away so suddenly….
We cannot imagine how your parents and family are feeling about your life being taken a year ago but we know that you are with the Lord. Thank you Darrell for allowing me to get to know you and choosing to also becoming apart of The Coleman FAMILY. I love you dearly….
I pray that the person who murdered you will receive what is deserved and justice on your behalf will indeed be served.
Father, thank You, thank You, thank you for all Your many, many, many blessings that You have given us. Father this is that day that You have made. We will rejoice and be glad. Oh, that You would bless us indeed, and enlarge our territory, that Your hand would be with us, and that You would keep us from evil, and that we may not cause pain!
Father we ask You to grant us what we have requested the way You did for Jabez according to Chronicles 4:9-10. Father, as we get ready to be with families and friends this Christmas, we ask You to keep us as we travel up and down the highways and airway. Let no danger harm us. Father, we thank You all our family members.
Keep them and bless us. Our Father who art in heaven Hallowed be thy Name, thy Kingdon come, Thy will be done., On earth as it is in heaven, Give us this day our daily bread, And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not in to temptation, But deliver us from evil, For thine is the kingdom, And the power, and the glory, Forever, Amen!
Now Father, bless all children and parents keep them together in love. Touch and heal the sick everywhere. Hold It Right There! Don’t worry about a gift. God gave us the great gift, Jesus! Love everyone and have a Merry and Blessed Christmas!
It has indeed been a while since my last blog! Well, things have been just sooooo busy in all areas of my life…… for the BETTER, thank you Jesus! Too much to go into but the list is long and some things are nice to keep to myself… ( for now )……Obtaining different perspectives on things…people and life will always make you re evaluate what is important. Love is something that God has commanded us to do for loved ones as well as enemies….we are to LOVE one another –
It is great when you can recognize the blessings that are in front of you as well as lying within you – waking up and being able to spend time with whom you love and do the things that make you happy is a HUGE blessing. Nothing can compare to the love of God and being PERMITTED/ GRANTED the grace of choosing to follow Christ and His benefits.
Please take a small moment and FIND OUT who and what is important in your circle – pluck up all the weeds so that your original garden can bloom again! Do not allow negative situations to kill the garden that God himself has divinely blessed you with…..Know that it is up to us to plant it and nurture it correctly….
From this Christmas on, it is imperative to make it about family. The gifts and running around, the sadness and disappointment of not having enough… Release that. Allow your mind to be at peace. Get your family around you and celebrate them. Look into the mirror and ask if you have done all that you can to bring peace… My younger son and I is amazed on how his older brother has MATURED!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!! He still has a great ways to go but I am grateful for the tiny steps that my son has chosen to take on his own……It is a blessing and yes I am soooooo proud! ( WHEW – FINALLY )
THIS is what Christmas is – A family gathered to [celebrate a child]. So celebrate each other. Nothing matters more than your family time spent together I do urge you to love those who YOU call and consider -FAMILY.
It is weird that EVERY Christmas Holiday Season… the world has to be REMINDED of the reason for the season….. however if we maintain that “personal” relationship with Jesus than it would be like water rolling off of a window pane…..
Helping the less fortunate….feeding the homeless….donating clothing to shelters…giving toys to children who are in the middle of a transition at a domestic violence center……giving a single parent a ride to church, donating book bags to low income neighborhoods, dropping groceries off for at least ONE senior citizen who you know that may live alone and just OVERALL giving back to your community are things that SHOULD BE considered as Christmas Spirit….those are the things that the Spirit of Jesus Christ requires us to do.
Furthermore, doing things with NO STRINGS attached and not shouting to the roof tops..” Look what I did for people” is a gfit that will keep on giving regardless if it is Tis The Season or not!
God should INDEED be uplifted all year round and not just be given the grand celebration from December 1 – December 25th!…….
Holiday cheer lasts only for the CURRENT moment and usually ENDS at the work or school Christimas Parties!!! However, The Christmas SPIRIT lasts a lifetime……..Reflecting on what is important will outlast any scheduled holiday season.
…. This is so true – All I want for Christmas is MY DAD who died 5 years ago!!!! I miss him…..
I know that I keep EMPHASIZING on how awesome that I think my 10 1/2 year old kid is ….but he is! ( well at least 85% of the time ) Look at the little love note that he wrote my mother above…. I was VERY TOUCHED and he laughed at me when tears came to my eyes! I told him when he gets older and he has kids ( according to him, he wants 4 kids / 3 boys and 1 girl LOL ) and his kids show massive compassion to me – he will indeed appreciate all of the amazing gestures as well…
I feel that ” The Kitchen Table” is the place where a great deal of information can be exchanged and it is funny how when people break bread they become very relaxed! My son talked about November being “a good month” and of course I asked him why and his answer was the same as mine! November represents giving thanks and his aunt, grandma and great grandma‘s birthday is all in one month so that could only mean good things!
Then he stated that he liked Christmas and Valentines Day… Christmas was of course a no brainer – but he did say that he was glad that Jesus shared his birthday with the world! ( my eyes filled with water ) LOL
So of course, immediately – im like yeah..yeah..Jesus loves us all okay now what do you know about Valentines Day! LOL ……. he quickly stated with a BIG MASSIVE grin – Mom its about love! What???????????????????? I fell off of my chair (in my mind at least) I do not get panic attacks but I felt as if one was coming on! He said Valentines Day is for love mom and I love you and my family. I didnt buy it ( although I should have – SHAME ON ME ) I asked him if he liked a girl and he got disgusted immediately and said yuck mom.
So that made me happy and I advised him that he could play his video games for A WHILE now….. After that 10 minute LONG conversation – I needed some air!
