There is a great deal that I DO NOT agree with in regards to our current President – Nevertheless, I will run across small snippets of things that he does “behind the scenes” and it is at “these moments”… my vantage point widens….. Hearing him talk about REAL LIFE things – encouraged me –
Most women already know what the statistics bear: You are still carrying most of the load. You juggle kids, work, home, volunteering and everything else in between. Are you really enriching your life by doing everything?
Logically, you know that running yourself on empty isn’t good for your health or your family. But the instinct to be a devoted mother means operating in overdrive…….. MENTAL BREAK DOWN is what we should avoid! You want your children to be happy, and you desire to give them every possible life experience, even at the expense of your own needs. You feel guilty if your children don’t have everything you think they should have.
Take stock of what you are doing now. Do you really need to bake three dozen cookies for every parent meeting? Or chaperone the next field trip? Will your children really be scarred for life if they don’t have a dinner made from scratch? Do you…… DO I …… LOL, have to put my son in EVERY kind of activity? Honey, I do stay EXHAUSTED because of it!!
Seriously think about what your own goals are. Focus on your interests and the opportunities at hand. Once you have your focus on target, the wasted time that goes along with being pulled in too many directions will be a thing of the past.
Okay, for a LONG time……I mean a VERY LONG TIME – I have had issues with tattoos….I didnt like them, well I STILL DONT care for them at all especially if they are on MY KIDS…..However, The Lord has helped me GET OVER this little hump that I HAVE MADE a big hump in reference to my son – his arms used to haunt me!!! No seriously!!
Are you trying to figure out how long it took? Please don’t because YES it was very long…but here is the good thing about it – after all of these LONG YEARS – God gave me Revelation about them in regards to my 20-year-old son…. (my baby)
God told me to LET IT GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I shared this EPIPHANY 2 weeks ago with my son while we was out to dinner…..I advised him that The Lord told me that I need to FOCUS on other REAL LIFE STUFF in regards to my son and He will handle the rest…… my son LAUGHED …smiled then gave me a high-five and said – “MOMMY, I AGREE WITH THE LORD”…….. I even had to giggle myself.. because honey – it works and I am glad that I have listened to The LORD.
Nonetheless, I am glad that I am LEARNING to pick MY BATTLES and stop stressing myself out with the silly things…… well NOT silly things – but the things that should not necessarily take precedence in this season!
Moral of the story – learn to get over the “small stuff”…………I finally did –
This song just put my son to sleep!! It is AMAZING how good God is….. Worship is a beautiful thing! Look at my baby sleeping sooo peacefully! Parenting can be tough when it comes to trying to keep your kids from getting hurt….
I am so so happy – that he was able to let the song minister to his heart!!! Welp, so on that note… Good night folks!
Well, since I have established a foundation that my son can come to be about ANY AND EVERYTHING….. I have molded myself to be alright with whatever with his answers are to the things that we discuss –
However but when it comes to relationships, we talk about several things and some of his replies have me astounded more so because of his age bracket!
Marriage – he says he does not want to get a divorce so he will take his time ( whew I am so proud of my baby) and I am glad that he understands divorce which – he is a victim of it so he understands.
THE SIMPLE CONVERSATION
ME: Jared so what is your type because I know that you are starting to think that girls are cute! I see all those little girls at school screaming and saying Hi to you all at the same time! They sound like a bunch of cats that are in pain!
SON: Mom what do you mean my type
ME: What type of girls do you think is pretty, what type of career do you want her to have, do you want her
SON: I like tiny blonde girls at school, you know white girls mom
ME: Oh okay, is that the only type that you like? Just white girls?
SON: I like only a few black girls but they have to act normal like you
ME: Baby what is normal?
SON: Not loud and stuff mom, they are smart, short, pretty dress nice and have a lot friends
ME: Awww baby, that is sweet baby but the things that you named are only a small part of what a woman is about
SON: What do you mean mom
ME: The things that you want in a woman should be things that cannot always be seen ONLY on the outside. How does she make you feel, what are some things that you would want your wife to do for you
SON: Do you mean like talking and praying and stuff?
ME: (I am laughing so hard ) YES! Things like that baby
SON: Oh well I want her to be just like you because we talk all the time, you always ask me what is the matter, you ask me what do I want to do with my life and when I tell you something different each week, you bring information about that field. See mom, I want someone who is like you, always there for me and telling me that I can do it!
ME: Now, it makes me feel good that you want someone who shares some of the same qualities that I have but remember you do NOT want to marry your mother or someone like your mother. You want and should marry your best friend. I can’t be her and she can’t be me.
SON: Mom, I know, that is why you are always fussing at me so I don’t be a baby and lazy in life
ME: Okay??? We will talk more later
TO BE CONTINUED…….
Although this is a cartoon BUT there is truth all through it. I mean really, which headstone is Trayvon Martin? Martin Luther King Jr.? Emmett Till? Darrell Turner Jr? and thousands of other black INNOCENT males? Huh?
Point is that I do not EVER want any of these tombstones to be be connected to or be a representative for anyone who did no wrong to be there.
Let alone yet ANOTHER “racial profile” black male.. Let alone either one if MY OWN sons!
