Dating Random Chatter-

image

There is all kinds of advice out there about dating today, but a lot of it is about dating in the world rather than Christian dating. Christians need to have a different attitude toward dating. However, even among Christians there are differences as to whether you should or should not date. The choice is up to your and your parents, but Christian teens should still know God’s perspective on dating.  Non-Christians have a different perspective on dating. You see the magazines, TV shows, and movies that tell you how you’re young, hot and beautiful , and you should date a lot of people before you get married. You see certain “role models” jumping from one dating relationship to another.

Yet God has more in store for you than just jumping from one relationship to another. He is clear on whom you should date and why you should date. When it comes to Christian dating, you live according to a different standard – God’s. Yet it’s not just about following the rules. There are some solid reasons why God asks us to live a certain way, and dating is no different.

The Bible seriously warns us about dating non-Christians. While you may not be looking at marrying anyone at the moment, it should always be in the back of your head. Why get involved emotionally with someone that you should not marry? This does not mean you cannot be friends with that person, but you should not date them.

Watch the corny pick up lines and don’t be soooooooo eager to be with someone….. Seriously! !
This also means that you should avoid “missionary dating,” which is dating a non-believer in the hopes that you can convert him or her. Your intentions may be noble, but the relationships rarely work out.

Some Christians have even gotten married to non-believers, hoping that they can convert their spouse, but often the relationships end up in disaster!

Random Relationship Thought – “s”

image

Relationships are often stressful and require a lot of effort to make them  successful. Friendships can sometimes become toxic and unhealthy to one or both  people involved. Letting go of unpleasant or unhealthy friendships can be very  difficult but is a vital step to improving overall quality of life, reduce  stress and possibly improve self-esteem. Once a friendship becomes more effort than  what it’s worth, letting that friend go is better done sooner than  later.
image

Focus on yourself, improve yourself and work towards a better version of who you are at the moment. The only person that you should change is you. If you live with someone who is difficult, or even if you just spend some time with them, take each time you interact with them as a new experience.

One of the most powerful things you can do is simply change how you view that difficult person. Maybe after you put yourself in their shoes, or learn that you are also a bit like them, you might find that they are not that difficult after all. Don’t let your first impressions be the only ones you have. And don’t waste your time trying to change anyone, instead, use that time and energy to improve who you are.

In the end we all just WANT PEACE right?? I personally have wasted too much time over the years of maintaining relationships that were DEAD for a long time….. Thank goodness for God’s revelation right!

I pray that you be still long enough to realize that SPRING CLEANING does not have to happen in the SPRING!! For me, it is a weekly thing and I feel lighter and lighter and it is an overwhelming POSITIVE EXPERIENCE in my life…. try it for yourself and see!

However, these things will ONLY work if you want to restore the relationships………. ALSO understand that in all honesty, all relationships are NOT meant to be restored…… In the end, it is about self love – and what YOU KNOW what is best for you…..

# until next time…..

Is This What Jesus Feels Like?

I finally obtained a chance to see and talk to MY DAUGHTER!! I went to go and see her and she ran up to me like she was a 5-year-old child!! I went to see her earlier in the day and her co workers did not believe that I was her mother….they thought that I was her sister and a few others, just felt as if I was her friend! LOL

Anyway….seeing her and knowing that there “has FINALLY been a change” in her made my VERY SOUL shout out to the Lord Jesus Christ! I was and I am still so so grateful ………… my son at first was a tad bit leery because ALLLLLLLLL of the stuff he knows that she and her twin brother has put me through over the years!

I  had to tell him off to the side then AGAIN in front of his sister that we all have to forgive… and there will be many more times that we may not want to but we have to….especially when it is FAMILY. If you really look at my son’s face, his smile is very FORCED AND FAKE…. however by the time our meeting time was over…he felt so much more comfortable and was actually glad to see his big sister…. She saw as well as felt the difference but she too, understood why he was being a little distant….

I told my own mother that …is this what the Lord feels like every time one of his children ” COMES BACK HOME ” to Him! LOL I know that they talk about the prodigal son in the bible but my goodness, in this day and age – there are SEVERAL prodigal daughters as well!!! I mean like to have her hugging me….squeezing me to pieces…smiling uncontrollably….crying and saying over and over how much she misses me and needs me in her and she is sorry – ….. YEAH – that is some of the same stuff that we as Christians say to the Lord when we know that we have messed up and know that we cannot go on productively without Him!

Nonetheless, OF COURSE I had my arms open to her and expressed not only how much I loved her but how she needs to have Jesus in her life. I had to tell her that it was God that told me to make a detour and come and see her and I am glad that I obeyed. The Lord had indeed softened my heart again towards her and it was  ONLY God that could have done it.. She smiled and became teary eyed again and said that she knew it was God. We prayed….talked…laughed….re -connected and vowed to work on our relationship WITH GOD IN THE MIDDLE of it.
