Lord, you DESERVE all of my praise……. Over and Over and Over and Over and Over…….
Just because Thanksgiving Day has passed, there’s no reason to stop being grateful……..
Something that has brought a positive change in my life recently has been the practice of turning negative statements around and finding something in the circumstance for which to be grateful.
“I am thankful for my 11 year old – PRE -teen-ager who complained about doing dishes BEFORE he left to go with his dad, because that means he is at home, not out on the streets somewhere.
“I am thankful for the taxes that I pay, because it means that I’m employed. “I am thankful for the mess I have to clean up at my house, because it means I’m more fortunate than thousands of people around the world. I have a home.
“I am thankful for the clothes that fit a little too snugly, because it means I have plenty to eat. “I’m thankful for my shadow that watches me work, because it means I’m outside in the sunshine. “I am thankful for my mother’s house SMELLING HORRIBLE of cooking gizzards..chitlings etc… because that means that she is STILL ALIVE to drive me insane of eating these nasty things and making my clothes stink” LOL
“I’m thankful for my oldest son who is in college being moody over the last few weeks but he makes me smile everytime he CHOOSES to text and call me. Also for my daughter being even MORE moodier but smiles when she emails me.
“I’m thankful for all the complaining about government and politics, because it reminds me I live in a country that allows me freedom of speech. “I’m thankful for the parking spot I found all the way at the end of the lot, because it means I have the strength and ability to walk the distance.
“I’m thankful for my heating bill, because it means I am warm. “I’m thankful for the lady behind me in church who sings off-key, because it means I am blessed with the gift of hearing. “I’m thankful for the pile of laundry that reminds me that I — and my family — have plenty of clothes to wear.
“I’m thankful for weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means I’m capable of working hard and making a contribution to the lives of others. “I’m thankful each day when the alarm goes off, and I hear it, because it means I’m still alive. There is still time to serve God and others. There are still opportunities to make a difference.
“Each day is a gift. Each burden holds a blessing, and every moment of life offers an opportunity that will come only once in a lifetime.
“I am thankful — just because — I am.”
Glad to make my mom happy with the little things in this life… She is just happy to have some of her family with her…… Making her SMILE is indeed a goal that I strive to meet daily with God’s direction.
Word for the MORNING and AFTERNOON ……… >>>>> was stress!!! Thank goodness, it is gone!
Okay, who would think that talking with someone at a cemetery could assist you in turning your whole day around!….Showing you different viewpoints in a FEW of your situations in life……. I was NOT having the “best moment” earlier today but then….. it happened.. God allowed a VERY STRESSFUL situation on my behalf to get turned around … ( God is everywhere )
Her name was “Stacy”……but just her calmness – her understanding – her words of wisdom – her ability to listen and understand ME “at that very moment” erased almost all of the negative things that I was feeling from Sunday and this afternoon. ( God is everywhere )
Honey with my weekend that I had starting with even going back to Wednesday – has been a but much to deal with –
However, it AMAZES me how in the midst of pure CHAOS – STRESS – UNCERTAINTY – DOUBT …..God still shows up and makes EVERYTHING alright… ( God is everywhere )
It is already Thursday….. So ask yourself if you have YET placed aside any time for yourself? If not, then you need to re – evaluate and re – adjust your schedule weekly. How can it already be Thursday morning and you have spent EVERY MOMENT focusing on other things and people but you yet again you obviously IGNORED YOURSELF?
How about start caring about yourself a little bit more than you are doing? You will LOVE yourself for it but you will then KICK YOURSELF after you see / realize how much that you needed it and you should have been “taking care of you”…….
During the time you take for yourself, look at your goals and what you want to do with your life. Think about your goals and how you are going to reach them. Think about the things that make you happy and think about what you are going to do to ensure you reach your goals. Taking time for yourself is a lot about goal setting because you can sit back and determine what goals you want to reach and how you are going to reach each of those goals.
Talk to your friends and family and let them know that you are taking time for yourself. Tell them that this time is for your personal reflection and that means no interruptions. Do not take phone calls from anyone and ensure those in your house know to leave you alone.
During your time, turn off the television, turn off the computer and sit down and surely let’s NOT FORGET to cut off that incredibly distracting CELL PHONE!! LOL
This is so you can be in your own mind. This keeps distractions from becoming a problem and it keeps you from worrying about things, or thinking about anything beyond what you need to.
Personal development will change your life but you need to make time for it and that means making time for yourself. Do not skimp on time for yourself because you want to ensure that you do everything right and reach the goals you want. Time for yourself allows you to think, plan and implement towards that end.
