Memories –

I was thinking of when I was being honored at a Banquet and when I realized that my son was getting an award as well –  You know I was mushy and teary eyed!! About 5 years ago – I started doing street ministry but to the Homeless population  called The Coleman Cares Winter Project and I went out from October until April giving out clothes, coats, socks, hot beverages and food.

This was done by MY OWN money as well as my son’s little piggy bank ( by his choice – which touched my heart as well ) Nonetheless, my son was also honored since he was in the trenches with me! This photo was taken when my NOW 11 year old son was about 6 years old.

The Lord’s work has its own kind of reward that does not always come / show up in the FORM of currency……God is good.

Jesus, help me to continue to have the heart and motivation of the Samaritan when he saw the needy man along the way. Taking the time to stop and help wasn’t on his schedule and his medical expenses weren’t in the Samaritan’s budget.

He didn’t consider these factors to be an obstacle that would keep him from extending Your mercy to one in need. Jesus, help me to be Your hand extended reaching out to the needy, the sick, and the oppressed.

Lastly right now Lord, when it is not within my ability or power to directly reach that person in need, prompt me to bring him before the throne in earnest prayer.

When it is YOUR will, please help me…show me..guide me to be a CHOSEN vessel that You use to heal the broken-hearted as You bind up their wounds.

Father, I will do it in Jesus’ name and for Your honor. Amen.

Finding Your Peace –

Do you have a problem on your mind tonight? Is it weighing so heavily that you cannot relax enough to sleep? Has the enemy convinced you that there is no solution? Nonsense!
There is no problem made by man or devil that God cannot solve on your behalf. Get your eyes off the bigness of your problem and put them on the bigness of your God! If you keep your eyes on your problem, the devil will use your circumstances to defeat you. Determine that this problem will be a doorway to new growth in your life, that somehow God will turn the situation around to glorify Himself.
Determine that not only will your needs be met, but that you will find the character of God blossoming forth in you because this difficult experience has driven you closer to Him. …
Remember that when you give your problem to the Lord, just because you don’t see an immediate change it doesn’t mean that God is not in control. There may be people He is dealing with and situations that must transpire before you see His behind-the-scenes handiwork revealed. God has an answer to every problem, no matter how great the struggle or how deep the pain. Cry out to Him!

God Laughs At Me Daily…..

I have to give myself reality checks at LEAST 15 times a day… Sad thing about that statement is that I am so serious and I am trying my best to get that number down to ZERO!! LOL

me

This is what I picture God saying to me…. EVERY TIME that ” I TRY TO ” fix things on my own!  The more wisdom that He blesses me / grants me / exposes me with – the more that I think that I am his assistant! I know that I can do NOTHING without Him but I am just very hard headed sometimes…….. Welp, maybe this is why I grant my kids (my teenagers ) with MAJOR GRACE when they act crazy and think that I am STILL SUPPOSED to “see about them”……

GOD has given us the power of choice. We must choose one way or the other, and whatever pathway we choose will lead to a specific destination. If we choose disobedience we end up with curses and every kind of misery; but if we choose life, we are BLESSED.

I often wonder why anyone would choose to be miserable when THEY could be BLESSED; yet multitudes do just that.  (DEUTERONOMY 11:26-28)

Even being a Mentor, we must ALWAYS remember that we too needed guidance! Having an open mind….and an open heart… is a need for growth. Whether a mentor or a mentee – BOTH parties should be obtaining something positive / productive from the relationship.

Now the photo above COULD represent me just taking a photo with a saleswoman in a store correct? Welp…. that would be too much like common sense Im sure- Or could it have been THE LORD using her to stop me from going any further? The lady did seem very excited to see me, we both introduced our kids to one another whom had not seen one another in 8 short / long years! She saw me in an aisle and looked at me and stated that I looked as if I did not need another stitch of clothing for my closet…….

She would not know that because I only had 4 things in my arms, so what would make her have that huge assumption of me I am wondering?

She is my cousin who just happens to work at a store that I GO INTO EVERYDAY to buy something…. Yeah.. I know that is not normal – pray for me instead of laughing at me okay! Or how about pray for me instead of judging me! LOL

My son just so happened to see a movie called Confessions of a Shopaholic and said….Mommy that is you! REALLY? My sister chimmed in and said definately that is you – I did watch the movie and surely I did NOT utter one word until it was over and said –  I AM NOT THAT BAD! However, when she went into her freezer to defrost her credit card….. I felt a need to pray – cry – laugh – giggle AND REPENT all at the same time! Weird I know…

I know that God HAS TO HELP ME with this little ” problem ” that keeps bothering me! UUGGGHHHH!!!! Does it make it ANY better that I do pay my bills as well as my weekly tithes / offerings AND give to non profits? Well, as long as I do give back right?

The church is waiting for ME tomorrow and there MUST be a tiny spot with my name on it so that I can get on my knees and ask for HELP! Yikes….
