Family Laughter

Times like these make me appreciate the SIMPLE things of life…… Nothing major but just having fun and realizing that the BEST things in life are indeed FREE!

Being able to spend quality time is always priceless and it is something that seemingly cannot be made up for. You are either there or you are not there…… Pick your choices wisely and remember that time does not wait for anyone!……..

The moments that we share with my family are precious and I fight to forgive daily….. Relationships take so much work and things will transpire that may not be apart of our plans but time, pray and faith does wonders!!

My kids… kids…my kids are very special to me- even when they do not act right!! ( i guess ) LOL

I love it when there are Christians who are always serious about Kingdom business, but at the same time have a good sense of humor and enjoy a good laugh.
In Christ, trust me….you or I, don’t need to be uptight and a sourpuss to get people take you seriously. Yes, you should be serious about your Heavenly Father‘s business in order for people to take you seriously.
But, you need balance because you don’t want to be serious all the time and you need to enjoy the abundant life that God has for you. When you enjoy a good laugh, it reminds you that God has a great sense of humor.

Yes, I love Hilary Clinton…. I think that she is such an intelligent woman and has a great sense of humor….. (?1#$@!)

Nonetheless, President Barack Obama has had WAY TOO MANY leaders in his cabinet do things that were simply……

my 2 cents worth

I am ALL for the First Lady of a country being “touchable” and “reachable” to the people she is serving…..

I know that it is all in fun connecting to different cultures and backgrounds but I want her to “take a break” on being so cool and hip ALL THE TIME when it is a photo opportunity….. GEESH…

People love HER ( I do too)… especially for being true to who SHE IS…. and that is great BUT please:

dance less, high five less, rap less BUT start more campaigns start more initiatives, start MORE awareness – “okay?” “please?”

She surely used to not be so loose – she would do a little move and laugh it off with a smile or hug a child etc. Her husband surely rubbed off on her – which “to some degree” is fine – BUT WHEN YOU KNOW that the media “really only” posts low end neighborhood / certain culture atmosphere photos – bring it in / tone it down some so that you do not “appear to be” a Neighborhood President For Hire! In certain positions, you have to care what the public thinks because it is the public who supports you and the public who people in and out of offices EVERY YEAR in America……..

I am NOT saying defame who you are – it would be crazy to do that –  ( well he has a few times anyway on and after the campaign trial ) but anyway…… You are the FIRST African American First Lady and President so it is sad but you do know that you have to work a lot harder at least “for now” until things change…. #TRUTH

Just show a good sense of humor – some coof – some dignity- some intelligence and learn how to balance it all out via being a WORLD LEADER.

My Love

Dearest Jared……

You are friendly, kind and caring
Sensitive, loyal and understanding
Humorous, fun, secure and true
Always there… yes that’s you.

Special, accepting, exciting and wise
Truthful and helpful, with honest bright eyes
Confiding, forgiving, cheerful and bright
Yes that’s you… not one bit of spite.

You’re one of a kind, different from others
Generous, charming, but not one that smothers
Optimistic, thoughtful, happy and game
But not just another… in the long chain.

Appreciative, warm and precious like gold
Our friendship won’t tarnish or ever grow old
You’ll always be there, I know that is true
Because YOU ARE MY SON I’ll always be here and love you too.

celebrating differences

First of all I just noticed that me and the woman in the photo are wearing the exact same color scheme and that was not planned! LOL Today people should not assume that the circle (s) of people or clicks that they have chosen to surround themselves with is not the END ALL / BE ALL approach to real relationships.  Over the last 5 years I have found a sense of humor, realized that I dont have to be in church 7 days a week, understood that balance within family, work and ministry is a MUST and that being silent at times is so powerful.

Sometimes I think back to how I used to be and laugh because I have come a mighty long way.. Now granted everyone has a past but some are just worse than others. We have all fallen short and it is up to God to decide on the depth that each person has fallen, not us. Judge slowly because you never know when it may be you who are in need of help or better yet, it could be a family or friend.  Being different is alright and because of that should not change your opportunities in life.

What we have to do… is to find a way to celebrate our diversity and debate our differences without fracturing our communities. We all live with the objective of being happy; our lives are all different and yet the same.

The beauty of Difference is of the essence of humanity. Difference is an accident of birth and it should therefore never be the source of hatred or conflict. The answer to difference is to respect it. Therein lies a most fundamental principle of peace: respect for diversity.
Human diversity makes tolerance more than a virtue; it makes it a requirement for survival.

I now have and fellowship with loved ones with very different backgrounds and it does not matter if they have the same clothing as I do, the same education, social class / status, denomination etc….etc..etc..etc… God has had me on this AGAPE LOVE that He speaks about and displayed in the Holy Scriptures…….

Showing love  should also displays the need to be there for them. help whenever possible…….. tell them how much you love and care for them. always remember: be careful about how you end your meetings, don’t ever end a conversation angrily, you never know if those could be the last words you say to them.

This is the same young lady that reminds me of my own baby sister and everytime that I see her shows me that LIFE isnt that bad! This girl fights to stay clean and sober and I even get inspired…… to even want to help her and other women like her. A great deal of people in ministry I am sure may have a past that they may not have a desire to speak about……but the women that I have seemed to find myself around lately, seem to LOVE to share their story / testimony!

Dear ( ME )

#random thoughts

I cannot say NO to this face!!! Lord I left the building upset at my son then he stopped to pose for me and I turned to mush!! It is amazing how things like a hugs, a smile, a thank you etc can turn your day around as well as your mood. He reminded me laughing is important and it is something that I have to KEEP ALIVE within me!! You can tell alot from a smile or a facial expression and knowing that I can make my son smile like this just softens my heart and touches the pit of my very soul!

It reminded me how life is short and that although I need to continue to be serious and tough on my son but remembering that we all need some space and rope. I have not had a sense of humor for about 15 years and just within the last 3 I FINALLY FOUND MY FUNNY BONE!

It used to be soo bad that my sister had taken me to see a movie and stated that the star’s behavior in it reminded her of me! It was called Deliver Us From Eva“…..  with actress Gabrielle Union

It was true about 85% but that is still a high percentage! LOL Geesh… but I was still alwasy nice even through my over years of over seriousness! Then a girlfriend of mine took me to see a movie called Something New with Sanna Lathan and their was yet another woman who was always too busy for friends, dates, boyfriends etc. AWESOME Movie and her costar…. Mr. Simon Baker#teambeautiful ( LOL )

It was all and she rarely took time for herself. Her brain was always thinking of work and how to get ahead etc.  Well I have come along way from BOTH of the characteristics of those women in the movies but I still have the tendency to be uptight sometimes…. I am trying though! LOL

Smile more, Laugh more, Love more, Take Chances more etc…etc…etc..etc.. I will and I already have! Yay me!! LOL
