Lord, you DESERVE all of my praise……. Over and Over and Over and Over and Over…….
Just because Thanksgiving Day has passed, there’s no reason to stop being grateful……..
Something that has brought a positive change in my life recently has been the practice of turning negative statements around and finding something in the circumstance for which to be grateful.
“I am thankful for my 11 year old – PRE -teen-ager who complained about doing dishes BEFORE he left to go with his dad, because that means he is at home, not out on the streets somewhere.
“I am thankful for the taxes that I pay, because it means that I’m employed. “I am thankful for the mess I have to clean up at my house, because it means I’m more fortunate than thousands of people around the world. I have a home.
“I am thankful for the clothes that fit a little too snugly, because it means I have plenty to eat. “I’m thankful for my shadow that watches me work, because it means I’m outside in the sunshine. “I am thankful for my mother’s house SMELLING HORRIBLE of cooking gizzards..chitlings etc… because that means that she is STILL ALIVE to drive me insane of eating these nasty things and making my clothes stink” LOL
“I’m thankful for my oldest son who is in college being moody over the last few weeks but he makes me smile everytime he CHOOSES to text and call me. Also for my daughter being even MORE moodier but smiles when she emails me.
“I’m thankful for all the complaining about government and politics, because it reminds me I live in a country that allows me freedom of speech. “I’m thankful for the parking spot I found all the way at the end of the lot, because it means I have the strength and ability to walk the distance.
“I’m thankful for my heating bill, because it means I am warm. “I’m thankful for the lady behind me in church who sings off-key, because it means I am blessed with the gift of hearing. “I’m thankful for the pile of laundry that reminds me that I — and my family — have plenty of clothes to wear.
“I’m thankful for weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day, because it means I’m capable of working hard and making a contribution to the lives of others. “I’m thankful each day when the alarm goes off, and I hear it, because it means I’m still alive. There is still time to serve God and others. There are still opportunities to make a difference.
“Each day is a gift. Each burden holds a blessing, and every moment of life offers an opportunity that will come only once in a lifetime.
“I am thankful — just because — I am.”
Isnt she lovely? Isnt she wonderful? She makes ME HAPPY……So very happy!! I am indeed a happy camper! A happy daughter! A happy kid in a candy store!
From dealing with hospitals, wires, doctors, nurses, emergency rooms, iv’s, heart machines and hearing the words code blue over the intercom way too many times – ANY DAY above ground is a good day! People please love on your PARENTS –
Being with my ” Mommy – Cakes” MAKES ME understand what living in the moment is really all about – It teaches me not to complain and to hold my peace / hold my tounge about a few things! That is ONE of many things that I admire about her.
When it comes to ” my mother “…….There are some people that really rub me the wrong way and I have not yet arrived to the place where she is mentally…emotionally…and spiritually in regards to DEALING with these “special types” of people! Nonetheless, like I stated – it is helping me to GROW – ( LOL )
Back to “reality” LOL – She is doing great and I am great because she is great and that is all that really matters to me these days… Life is full of ups and downs and I am just always praying that on all of these CRAZY AND OUT OF THE BLUE roller coaster rides – God grants ME the STRENGTH, STRATEGIES AND TACTICS to just simply ” hold on “……………..not to the things of Life but HIM which who has granted and given me LIFE
Whatever you are trying to get people to believe / think / do is a plan for discipleship – trainers – ceo’s etc. In church it is in the name of God……… In an organization it is in the name and In a company it is in the name of the mighty dollar. However, focusing on DISCIPLESHIP is my goal at the moment.Discipleship is not the management of people or personal development, but it is a system that provides the safe arena of love and commitment in order that God’s people might reach their highest potential.
Discipleship is sharing the life of God in the context of real, loving friendships that are developed into KINGDOM RELATIONSHIPS. Jesus Christ adopted this pattern. Though he used the tool of corporate verbal preaching when dealing with large crowds – He functioned extremely different with the Twelve up close.
Most churches are struggling to succeed and will not carry out their ordained purpose of God if there are no Successors being discipled to carry out the original assignment of that church/ministry without bondage. This is some serious business and it is imperative that WE THE PEOPLE “get it right and get ourselves together”……. Thanks Hester!
