Blessed Mothers –

image

For ANYONE who has read a few of my posts know that besides the other RANTS that I may do from time to time – talking about being a parent – talking about politics – talking about relationships – talking about ministry – I SURELY do a great deal of blogs about who I affectionately call ym “Mommy Cakes” ……… She indeed is utterly amazing!

Blessed are the Mothers who love God, for their children shall  not be ignorant of their Creator and His plans about them.  Blessed are the Mothers who love the word of God, for their children shall know of the way, the truth and the life.
image

Blessed are the Mothers who love the house of God, for their  children shall enter there and sit with them in the presence of God. Blessed are the Mothers who love to pray, for their children  shall feel the power of prayer and many shall find salvation. Blessed are the Mothers who love to give to the cause of Christ,  for their children shall become supporters of the Kingdom of God.
image

Blessed are the Mothers who love the family altar, for they  shall have their reward in this world and in the world to come. Blessed are the Mothers who love to speak kind words to their  neighbor’s children, for thereby they shall win  other boys and girls besides their own to Jesus Christ. Blessed are the Mothers who love to be companions to their  children, for they shall be called understanding Mothers.
image

Blessed are the Mothers who love to fight life’s battles  bravely with a strong and steadfast faith in God, for their  children shall know where to find strength in time of need. Blessed are the Mothers who, when they are old and gray,  can look back upon memory’s wall with no regret and can say,  “I brought my children up in the fear of the Lord.”  Theirs are the mansions in glory.

Every Day is A Good Day –

image

Isnt she lovely? Isnt she wonderful? She makes ME HAPPY……So very happy!! I am indeed a happy camper! A happy daughter! A happy kid in a candy store!

From dealing with hospitals, wires, doctors, nurses, emergency rooms, iv’s, heart machines and hearing the words code blue over the intercom way too many times – ANY DAY above ground is a good day! People please love on your PARENTS –
image

Being with my ” Mommy – Cakes” MAKES ME understand what living in the moment is really all about – It teaches me not to complain and to hold my peace / hold my tounge about a few things! That is ONE of many things that I admire about her.
image

When it comes to ” my mother “…….There are some people that really rub me the wrong way and I have not yet arrived to the place where she is mentally…emotionally…and spiritually in regards to DEALING with these “special types” of people! Nonetheless, like I stated – it is helping me to GROW – ( LOL )
image

Back to “reality”  LOL – She is doing great and I am great because she is great and that is all that really matters to me these days… Life is full of ups and downs and I am just always praying that on all of these CRAZY AND OUT OF THE BLUE roller coaster rides – God grants ME the STRENGTH, STRATEGIES AND TACTICS to just simply ” hold on “……………..not to the things of Life but HIM which who has granted and given me LIFE

Ministry

Discipleship

image

Whenever a church / organization / company has to VOTE FOR A LEADER in it is because of their lack of “DISCIPLESHIP” in that church/ministry. Whenever you have a church/ministry with constant break ups, splits during times of disagreement; it is because of the lack of “DISCIPLESHIP.”

image

Whatever you are trying to get people to believe / think / do is a plan for discipleship – trainers – ceo’s etc. In church it is in the name of God……… In an organization it is in the name and In a company it is in the name of the mighty dollar. However, focusing on DISCIPLESHIP is my goal at the moment.Discipleship is not the management of people or personal development, but it is a system that provides the safe arena of love and commitment in order that God’s people might reach their highest potential.

Discipleship is sharing the life of God in the context of real, loving friendships that are developed into KINGDOM RELATIONSHIPS. Jesus Christ adopted this pattern. Though he used the tool of corporate verbal preaching when dealing with large crowds – He functioned extremely different with the Twelve up close.

Most churches are struggling to succeed and will not carry out their ordained purpose of God if there are no Successors being discipled to carry out the original assignment of that church/ministry without bondage. This is some serious business and it is imperative that WE THE PEOPLE “get it right and get ourselves together”……. Thanks Hester!

Politics

A Female “Jim Crow”……

pastor makeda pennycooke via facebook

This story has LITERALLY floored me this evening…. I mean really? Some black folk kill me with their LACK of respect of their own identity – It is a SAD DAY in America with it being 2013 and this JIM CROW Black Woman acting like this!

An African North Carolina pastor is facing backlash after she requested “only  white people” work as greeters at the church she leads. This woman has a smile on her face but her mind and intentions toward her own race CLEARLY says something different.

In an email, Pastor Makeda Pennycooke of Freedom House in Charlotte said  “first impressions matter,” and the church wants “the best of the best on the  front doors.”

“We anticipate having an increase in the number of people visiting and  attending Freedom House over the next few weeks,” she wrote. “We are continuing to work to bring our racial  demographic pendulum back to mid-line, so we would like to ask that only white  people be on the front doors.”

The church said the pastor apologized, and released a full statement that  said Pennycooke was writing because “the greeting team was no longer reflecting  the racial diversity of our entire congregation.”

“She made an error in judgment in requesting all white greeters at the front  door, going overboard in placing emphasis on any one race over another in trying  to highlight diversity within the greeting team,” the statement continued. “She  admits this was a grave lapse in judgment and is sincerely sorry for her  actions.”

I bet this AFRICAN AMERICAN PASTOR ….had a POOR lapse in judgement but I do NOT feel that she is sorry – She is sorry that the members of her church told the media about!

Never thought I would see a BLACK …Jim Crow ..ESPECIALLY in the “form of” a Pastor! This country is full of surprises!

Co – Parenting

imageWhen children spend their time split between parents’ houses, there are several issues that may arise. It would be LOVELY if SIMPLE things like this would transpire – Co – Parenting can BE DONE – but you need willing parties!

One of the benefits that co-parenting provides is supplying children with a close and fair relationship with both parties. Even though the parents may have their disagreements and different views, for the sake of the children, it is imperative that they put all issues aside and set some uniform rules that must be followed within both households.
image

Also Parents HAVE TO EVEN FIRST understand what THEIR ROLE as a parent is and then co – parenting would not be so hard for them! Yes, it can drive you crazy when the other parent is totally “off of their game” but for the sake of the child – you pray and push forward…. (ugghh)
image

1. One of the most important rules in co-parenting is to never talk badly about the other parent to the children. When children witness this behavior, they will think it is OK for them to do the same. Children should not view their parents as enemies, but rather as a team, even though they may not live together anymore. When children realize that their parents are a team, the child will no longer choose a favorite or take sides in disagreements between the parents.

2. There should be a uniform set of rules that is enforced in each household. If children notice that they are able to get away with more at one house versus the other, that will cause the children to develop a favorite household for the wrong reasons.

3. If a child misbehaves and is punished, the punishment should follow them to the other parent’s house as well. Children should not think they are off the hook once they go to visit the other parent. This will teach them that no matter what household they are in, they cannot get away with misbehaving.

Today’s – Inspiration

You wake up every morning, wondering what the day has in store for you. It could be a fun day full of happy surprises, new friendships, and accomplishment of new milestones. Or, it could be a lousy day, with the boss yelling at you, your car breaking down, or your kid doing something they should not have. Some days are good, some are bad and it is just LIFE and we have to learn to deal with it all in stride….. Is it hard – OF COURSE but should we allow it to “kill our day” NO!

How do you react to these incidents? Do you mope around and say, “Life is hard!”? Or do you square your shoulders, and say, “No problem, life is good!”?

Albert Einstein said, “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” If you look at life positively, you will find every hurdle a stepping stone to success. Instead of making excuses, you will find reasons to succeed. Each failure teaches us important lessons in life. Don’t be disappointed or disillusioned by your misadventures. Life is good when you accept failures and success.

Recharge your soul with positive thinking. Start your day by saying that life is good. Quotes that build a positive energy are great stress busters. With a never-say-die attitude, you can see the silver lining in every grey cloud.

Learning To Bend –

image

Okay, for a LONG time……I mean a VERY LONG TIME – I have had issues with tattoos….I didnt like them, well I STILL DONT care for them at all especially if they are on MY KIDS…..However, The Lord has helped me GET OVER this little hump that I HAVE MADE a big hump in reference to my son – his arms used to haunt me!!! No seriously!!
image

Are you trying to figure out how long it took? Please don’t because YES it was very long…but here is the good thing about it – after all of these LONG YEARS – God gave me Revelation about them in regards to my 20-year-old son…. (my baby)

God told me to LET IT GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I shared this EPIPHANY 2 weeks ago with my son while we was out to dinner…..I advised him that The Lord told me that I need to FOCUS on other REAL LIFE STUFF in regards to my son and He will handle the rest…… my son LAUGHED …smiled then gave me a high-five and said – “MOMMY, I AGREE WITH THE LORD”…….. I even had to giggle myself.. because honey – it works and I am glad that I have listened to The LORD.
image

I made some serious progress folks but listen – I was FURIOUS with God…because “at first” …………I was like HUH? Even look at how my mommy was looking at my son’s arms!! LOL
image

Nonetheless, I am glad that I am LEARNING to pick MY BATTLES and stop stressing myself  out with the silly things…… well NOT silly things – but the things that should not necessarily take precedence in this season!

Moral of the story – learn to get over the “small stuff”…………I finally did –
