Perception

OKAY ALREADY!!! I already have a “hard time” with so many “overly” urban slangs…..dress codes….laws….etc..etc..etc.. However, why is it totally alright to interview a world leader with a huge urban hat on your head? I am almost 100% percent sure that the INTERVIEWER may have been advised to wear something to COVER UP his multiplicity of MASSIVE dread lock collection that moves out of control on his head  However, with a suit on and an upgraded version of a MIX BETWEEN a doo – rag and a baseball cap still is not appropriate – if he is Muslim, wear a turban but he isnt.. so that is I guess – indeed my point…

Should I care? Maybe…..maybe not – but I am just so over people as well as our current president being OVERLY way too cool about everything! Then with the whole White House ” cute joke ” with the 2012 Summer Olympic Gymnast was just soo should NOT have been posted in the media! You can do all of the “inside jokes” that he wants to but does it ALL have to hit the media?

I dont want the world leader being known for listening to gangster rap either! If he likes Jay – Z and rapper 50 cent, that is FINE and his choice BUT can we keep that on the hush? Ummm maybe because in their lyrics they are calling women bit___ and hoes?… I  mean really… especially since HE THINKS so highly of his lovely wife Lady Michelle Obama and he adores his two little girls? Oh yeah… Beyonce is very beautiful but her attire and some of her lyrics as well are not  suitable for little girls, right Mr and Mrs Obama? Try NOT to share every little detail please! Maybe Beyonce can teach your daughter what the meaning of ” A Hustler ” is… it is one of her songs and I am SURE that you would not mind because Beyonce is a role model for both of yor daughters… So MENTOR AWAY!!!

Maybe I am crazy huh? Stop being ” soo cool” and start being ” soo respected”….. I want A WORLD LEADER to be respected and not just ” deemed as being cool and having swag”….UUUGGGHHH!!

So Weird!!!

A young Kenyan mother has named her newly born twin boys after the U.S. president-elect and his defeated Republican challenger.

Millicent Owuor, 20, gave birth to Barack Obama and Mitt Romney on Wednesday at the Siaya District Hospital in southwest Kenya, according to the Standard.

Owuor told the Kenyan news outlet her sons’ names will always remind her of the election in the United States.

The hospital is near the village of Kogelo, where where President Barack Obama’s father was born and where his 90-year-old step-grandmother, Sarah Obama resides.

Residents of Kogelo emphatically celebrated Obama’s victory as results from the United States were reported.

Shouts of “Hail our Kogelo son” and “Obama is coming, open the road for him” rang through the air as locals blew vuvuzelas horns in celebration, the Standard reports.

“If Obama did not win, I believe most projects here would stall,” Joseph Onyango told the Kenyan media outlet.

Kenyans hope Obama’s reelection will harken a fresh start with U.S. relationships with Kenya, Reuters reports.

Obama visited sub-Saharan Africa just once during his first four years – a stop of less than a day in Ghana, according to Reuters.

If Obama does visit Kenya, maybe baby Barack can meet his namesake, and baby Mitt meet the U.S. President.

Speaking Life To Your Kids……

Self-respect cannot be hunted.  It cannot be purchased.  It is never for sale. …..It cannot be fabricated out of public relations.  It comes to us when we are
alone, in quiet moments, in quiet places, when e suddenly realize that, knowing the good, we have done it; knowing the beautiful, we have served it; knowing the
truth we have spoken it.

Respect your efforts, respect yourself.  Self-respect leads to self-discipline and when you have both firmly under your belt, that’s real power! If you want to be respected by others the great thing is to respect yourself.  Only by that, only by self-respect will you compel others to respect you as well….

Lastly…… ( for the moment )  ……………….

It is the highest form of self-respect to admit our errors and mistakes and make ends for them.  To make a mistake is only an error in judgment, but to adhere
to it when it is discovered shows infirmity of character…

Really?

Trust me…I am ALL for Marketing and Public Relations etc.. but I am wise enough to know that when I am doing more than “pushing the envelope”…… This was total disrespect for this company to even think that these TYPE of shoes would sell!

I said to myself wow – this is my favorite shoe company, track and running company, dress down clothes company… GEESH…

Thank goodness that they obtained TONS OF BACKLASH from more than half the African American basketball players in the NBA and the company of Adiddas has PULLED the shoes off the shelves and will no longer comtinue with production! All this negative impact because they are trying to chase that mighty dollar! I WONDER how the Jewish Community would feel if they made gas chambers and placed them in the Hamptons, high end area in New York City and called them “steam rooms” but placed the words ” For Jewish People Only”….. hmm…. Now you see where I am coming from!!!!!!!

Please do understand that I do know that for companies to try to even attempt to PUSH THE ENVELOPE is because they have done edgy things before……these shoes would have sold to a few kids due to their TOTAL IGNORANCE. To kids / teenagers they see the shoe as NEW AND INNOVATIVE but if someone called them a slave they may have flipped out. However, I would ask them why are they getting so upset when they are using STYLE to stay in bondage and wear shackles on their legs?

Mary – Mary sings….take the shackles off my feet so I can dance!…I just want to PRAISE HIM! This shoe was designed for the “urban culture” in mind! We can agree on that right?

The marketing and creative department needs to take a class on SENSITIVITY TRAINING – as soon as possible! Everything is political in this world because although by taking a huge RISK and making this shoe, they figured that since slavery happened years ago that this “would be” alright…..

NOPE! It is 2012 going on 2013 and it STILL IS NOT okay! I do not care if the maker of the shoe was black, white, asian, indian, creole etc..etc..etc.. they just did not totally think through this “big great idea” that they felt that they had! However, shame on the MARKETING REP’S for even giving the “go ahead” to produce the shoe and ship them to the shoe stores!

Right Word but Wrong Target

The word Target has several ways that it could be used but in the way that we use it seems to become more narrow everyday.Being ” human ” and all, I personally feel that the first way to think of the simple word TARGET should have your mind thinking what is meant toward an objective; goal / someone or something that is the focus of attention, interest, etc.Not the store called TARGET so you can find out what is on sale
Not a Business Deal, asking what is your target audience because you are trying to make sales
Not a sporting event that you are trying to be the better player
Not a hunter trying to figure out which deer, birds or geese are acceptable under law to shoot and kill

It is your ” civic duty ” to HELP others that are in need, that is a human instinct… ” even animals “ help each other…….

Everyday that you wake up is another opportunity to ammend the targets in your life. If all of them are addressing only the needs that you will be edified then you may be just a little off course.
