Friday Thoughts –

imageNo one said it was going to be easy, the day you were born. Your mother never said that life would be a breeze and it will be clear sailing without any struggles, risks, or obstacles to overcome. Instead, you realized that things might not always go your way. Even as an infant, you got hungry, thirsty, bored, tired, sick, cold, hot, constipated, upset, startled, scared, confused, and frustrated by a myriad of circumstances you couldn’t possibly comprehend.

As you grew up, you began to understand how you could control certain elements of your environment, yet still suffered from all the troubles I just listed. Even as an adult, we are subjected to these same issues that invade our lives. It appears that life is, and shall stay, a struggle until the day we die. It’s how we cope and view these incidents that find our character and the quality of our existence.

It’s all about our attitude. With constant news reports about catastrophes striking every country in the world, how can we feel good about ourselves? There are starving people, natural disasters, political strife, warring nations, terrorism, pollution, health concerns, and over-crowding, both local and nationally. The news apparently is never good.

Add to that, daily confrontations with employers, store clerks, other drivers, and family members, you get the picture. You face a never-ending sea of bills, relationship challenges, and on-the-job dilemmas. Where will it end? Only at death, I’m afraid and some depressed individuals have already decided to end their lives sooner than later. But, for the rest of us that face these facts of daily life, what are our options?

We have to accept why we are on this planet in the first place. Assuming we have only one crack at a lifetime, we get to make the most out of it as possible. Through our own free will and perhaps some divine intervention, we control our fate. We can choose to allow the constant bombardment of negativity ruin our psyche, or ignore the obvious taunts and move forward with a good attitude. It’s takes a commitment and constant effort to overcome the flow of obstacles, but it can be done. It begins with the simple things.

A Prayer Life

image

Every Day of my life I am learning the importance of a personal prayer life and seeing the results of a consistent commitment to prayer. ( whew md hester )

Our future walk in the Lord becoming successful can only be determined by our personal prayer lives. Some things will create greater problems if we continue to do them without prayer:1. Bible Study Without Prayer: Produces Knowledge with No Power.

2. Worship…s Team Without Prayer: Produces Singing with no anointing.

3. Marriage/Relationships Without Prayer: Produces False Unions.

4. Preachers/Preaching Without Prayer: Produces Charisma & No Character

5. Prophetic Ministry Without Prayer: Produces Witchcraft & Rebellion

6. Planting Churches Without Prayer: Produces False Hope To Communities

7. Ordaining Leaders Without Prayer: Produces False Church Government

8. Fasting Without Prayer: Produces Starvation & Carnality

9. Making Decisions Without Prayer: Produces Regrets & Shame

10. Starting A Relationship Without Prayer: Produces Ungodly Soulties

Having a Personal Prayer life is very significant to the believers walk with God. Being overconfident in yourself, is a quick lane to failure and disappointment including a lack of urgency for proper priorities in life.

The Leader From Within –

GUARD THE LEADER IN YOU:

Boundaries produces Integrity, loyalty and honor. Leaders must protect the mystery and grace that is upon their lives to lead others. Many may never understand this method, but it is important to set boundaries to manage the level of respect others have and keep for you. Inappropriate familiarity kills the attempt to properly bond. This type of familiarity will ultimately cause others to denote who you are in God because of the access given to areas of your life that should have boundaries.  ( thanks md hester )

Moms….. TAKE Time!

image

Most women already know what the statistics bear: You are still carrying most of the load. You juggle kids, work, home, volunteering and everything else in between. Are you really enriching your life by doing everything?

“When we are stressed, overwhelmed and tired, we have a shorter fuse. We become irritable, and it’s more difficult to handle the challenges of being with children,”…………..
image

Logically, you know that running yourself on empty isn’t good for your health or your family. But the instinct to be a devoted mother means operating in overdrive…….. MENTAL BREAK DOWN is what we should avoid!  You want your children to be happy, and you desire to give them every possible life experience, even at the expense of your own needs. You feel guilty if your children don’t have everything you think they should have.

Now that you know it is healthy and even productive to take a “time out,” how can you actually take one when you can’t possibly drop one thing on your schedule?
image

Take stock of what you are doing now. Do you really need to bake three dozen cookies for every parent meeting? Or chaperone the next field trip? Will your children really be scarred for life if they don’t have a dinner made from scratch? Do you…… DO I …… LOL, have to put my son in EVERY kind of activity? Honey, I do stay EXHAUSTED because of it!!

Seriously think about what your own goals are. Focus on your interests and the opportunities at hand. Once you have your focus on target, the wasted time that goes along with being pulled in too many directions will be a thing of the past.

Just Thinking –

I have been exposed to diversity all of my life but over the last 10 years I have reshifted my focus towards my OWN community. Was it right? No? Did I feel that I had just cause? Yes – the way that the COMMUNITY acts towards one another from within the COMMUNITY left me no choice but to mentally – physically – emotionally – financially – and sometimes even spiritually from the community.

However, after seeing a movie on August 20, 2013 and it changed me in a way that I scared even myself – I love PEOPLE in general and watching history take place and unfold in front of me on a big screen with total silence in the room ( minus a few parts of a movie that may have been edited for viewing ) still made me become aware of emotions that I had NO IDEA I had the ability to even feel towards another person. However – after the movie was over – I went to go and “speak to myself” and purge what I was feeling –

Although I ONLY spoke for about 10 minutes – I still felt as if I indeed had soo much MORE to say – but I was TERRIFIED how it would actually leave from my lips – Black History has a great deal of blemishes in it….. but it cannot be ERASED but it can be used as a tool of how WE ALL CAN do better and promote and push for LOVE AND EQUALITY – Did I get upset? Yes, Did I cry? YES, Did I become bitter? No, Did I pause and re-evaluate my friendships of anyone who is white in my life? Yes.

Did it change my views of them? NO!!  Ugghhh!! Racism is ugly …

Now that I am BETTER and I have CALMED myself down – I feel great – I feel good – I feel free – I feel blessed – I feel strong – I feel different – I feel worthy – I feel accomplished – I feel valued – I feel blessed – I feel invincible – I feel beautiful – I am just honored that I can EVEN FEEL ANYTHING –
