My Son’s PERSONAL Observation –

image

Okay – my son knows about politics and the things that occur in the world via CNN, the regular news stations and the things that I discuss with him – It is going on 9 pm and I am fussing at him in regards to getting himself together for school and he is ironing his clothes while chatting with me all at the same time……

Then from out of no where – he says mom remember every time there is a new POPE for the Catholic Church it is all over the news for days and it takes over the programs on television. I said yes, he said isn’t the POPE in another country and again, I answered yes.

Yall ready for this 11 year old’s child DISCOVERY!!  >>>> His next statement / question to me was this…..

Well mom, I don’t get that President Nelson Mandela died and he did so much for blacks and whites, was in jail and forgave the people for being mean to him then ran for president right? AGAIN … I said yes baby – He states, why didnt the media cover Nelson Mandela’s funeral on most of all the news channels like they do when they vote for a new POPE or when PEOPLE FROM ENGLAND GET MARRIED!!!!!!!!!!

Okay y’all, that was enough for me right there!! Whew – my son is indeed amazing! I taught him good and God surely is molding his little mind for such a time as this!

God Bless and Good Night!!

Nelson Mandela –

wpid-IMG_20131210_095535.jpg

Listen, I am soooo saddened to hear about the passing of Africa’s FATHER – Black men and Black women’s HUMAN HERO ……….. one of my childhood…… pre – teen…..teen and adult hero……The one and ONLY – Mr. Nelson Mandela – I just heard that he passed 30 minutes ago and I am REALLY bothered…. I have been praying for him and screamed when I found out – My son Jared came running and asked me what was the matter  –

I said baby Nelson Mandela passed – he said what mom…for real… I said do you know who he is / who he was? He said yes mom, you told me about him several times like you do about other black leaders….. That made me feel so good that he not only remembered who this great man was ….but Jared also KNEW that with this man dying that it meant something for black men and women around the world……..  My heart really is hurt…. It makes me also think of my father because it indeed was the late Mr. Norris Coleman who taught me ALL about important political leaders…….

Who Is In Office?

Oval%20Office020

Ummmm… last time that I checked…. A United States President “represented” power and he or she ( Hillary 2016 ) was able to make MAJOR EXECUTIVE DECISIONS without the “okay” from congress…….. ( folk that represent the 50 states within the United States )…….

For a mega power county leader to NOT make a decision because he wanted “others” to be apart of the process is MIND BOGGLING to me…. I mean if you want CONGRESS “to help you” to decide…. WHY ARE YOU IN OFFICE? For all that , I should have AT LEAST ran for office…..

I mean the WORLD is watching and I am sure that although this is President Barack Obama’s last term in office he is thinking of his legacy. Well, Mr. President, there are tons of other things that has already transpired during your two terms so your legacy will NOT look like Lyndon B. Johnson, Harry Truman, John F. Kennedy or Bill Clinton.

I mean – is this really AMERICA in this crisis right now? Families of military troops are all excited that the United States has been slowly but surely being pulled from the Middle East……. but if we know our great country of AMERICA – those same troops that were promised a date to “go home” with their families will be DETOURED TO SYRIA!

Ugghh… I wish that the country that I lived in operated with more BACKBONE – and why did no one care about SUDAN when ( and still ) going through all of the killings….. MASS MURDERING / RAPES etc???

Nelson Mandela Facts –

Nelson-Mandela

A true example of a living legend, Nelson Mandela celebrates his 94th birthday on July 18, 2012. Mandela has led a lifelong struggle for freedom and equality in South Africa, best known for his landmark role in helping end the nation’s apartheid regime in the 1990s. Through his leadership and courage, Mandela has also inspired people worldwide to fight for change, even in the face of tremendous adversity.

Early Years
Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was born on July 18, 1918, in Qunu, Transkei, South Africa. He was an active student as a young man, leading strikes at Fort Hare University before starting the Youth League of the African National Congress with other student activists in 1944. Mandela became active in the campaign to end apartheid in South Africa, advocating civil disobedience to draw attention to this unjust system of state-sponsored segregation and discrimination.

Imprisonment
In March 1960, the Sharpeville Massacre brought the struggle against apartheid into the international spotlight. A massive number of black protestors led a demonstration at a police station in the township of Sharpeville. Police reacted violently against the protest, killing over 69 people. The massacre became a flashpoint for the fight against apartheid. Mandela helped organize a general strike and formed a paramilitary wing of the ANC called Umkhonte we Sizwe (Spear of the Nation). The South African government cracked down on Mandela and other activists, determined to shut down these efforts. Mandela was sentenced to life in prison in 1964 for his political activities. He would spend 27 years in prison on South Africa’s Robben Island and later at Pollsmoor Prison.

So Weird!!!

A young Kenyan mother has named her newly born twin boys after the U.S. president-elect and his defeated Republican challenger.

Millicent Owuor, 20, gave birth to Barack Obama and Mitt Romney on Wednesday at the Siaya District Hospital in southwest Kenya, according to the Standard.

Owuor told the Kenyan news outlet her sons’ names will always remind her of the election in the United States.

The hospital is near the village of Kogelo, where where President Barack Obama’s father was born and where his 90-year-old step-grandmother, Sarah Obama resides.

Residents of Kogelo emphatically celebrated Obama’s victory as results from the United States were reported.

Shouts of “Hail our Kogelo son” and “Obama is coming, open the road for him” rang through the air as locals blew vuvuzelas horns in celebration, the Standard reports.

“If Obama did not win, I believe most projects here would stall,” Joseph Onyango told the Kenyan media outlet.

Kenyans hope Obama’s reelection will harken a fresh start with U.S. relationships with Kenya, Reuters reports.

Obama visited sub-Saharan Africa just once during his first four years – a stop of less than a day in Ghana, according to Reuters.

If Obama does visit Kenya, maybe baby Barack can meet his namesake, and baby Mitt meet the U.S. President.
