Helping Self...

Expect your child to mess up — all children do. And don’t get so upset when they mess up, when they don’t do what they’re “supposed” to do … because they’re supposed to mess up.

Expect your partner to be less than perfect.

Expect your friend to not show up sometimes or be irritating late.

Expect things to go not according to plan because most things do not.

Expect people to be rude sometimes because a great deal of them are.

Expect coworkers not to come through sometimes more than usual.

Expect teenagers  not to wash their dishes or pick up their clothes, sometimes because most teenagers do not.

Expect the glass to break.

And accept it.

You won’t change these inevitable facts — they will happen, eventually. And if you expect it to happen — even see it as already happening, before it happens — you won’t get so upset.

You won’t overreact. You’ll respond appropriately, but not overreact. You can talk to the person about their behavior, and ask them kindly to consider your feelings when they do this … but you won’t get overly emotional and blow things out of proportion.

The Name of The Game is Called – Balance!

image

In spite of us being at a funeral all morning and afternoon…..
Life still went on and I was totally tapped out.

Emotionally and Physically, I just didn’t want to do anything after the very emotional roller coaster that I was on and soooooooooooo didn’t even want to end. Nope I really didnt because I felt like the old me when I was around my old church family-friendly sainta!!!

Nonetheless, there was only time for one persob to change their clothes…..and it was my son because he had a basketball game.

Did it matter that I didnt feel like going? Nope… Did it matter that I was emotionally exhausted? Nope…. Did it matter that I have BALANCE and allow my son to go to his basketball game and he have my full attention AND support?

Absolutely!!! I know enough parents in MINISTRY / CHURCH sometimes do NOT understand balance and place the ministry over Family things which is soooooooooooo wrong and out of order!!!

Things My MOTHER Teachers Me

There are two voices speaking to you…the crowd and the cross…and you have to choose which one to listen to.

The crowd says be happy…the cross says be holy.
The crowd says if it feels good, do it…the cross says for the sake of love, endure it.
The crowd says honor yourself…the cross says humble yourself.

Because of the cross, my interest in the crowd died long ago.

My mommy cakes ( what I call her ) is indeed an amazing woman!! There is no one like her…  God thank you for sharing her with little old me!
