Military Women Fighting on the Frontline

First let me thank a blog that I follow called Digestible Politics for making me even brain storm this morning! I was up getting my mind ….body and spirit together then I started blogging! I then fooled around and ran across one of the blogs on this very same subject as well and my mind started GOING. …….hmmmmmm!!!!! Lol

I am a woman but I also enjoy my femininity.  Just because I may be able to do some acts like a man does not mean that I should!

WOMEN fighting on The Frontline…… Welp ” TO ME”…..This sounded like a Feminist desire..wanting to be on the front line as men. Some of them who are mothers and wives should talk to their families about making thus huge and over the top decision.

When you see a female police officer when she first joins the force verses about 5 years AFTER she has been on the force, you may almost NOT even recognize her……… Those male characteristics…tendencies…form…aura..etc..etc..etc.. takes its toll on her.

By now, if she lasted that long, she is one of the boys…..she has a horrid potty mouth like them, has tons of aggression,  her walk is even different,  her past flirting eyes has now changed into a gazing barking bite, she seriously feels more comfy in pants than a nice flowing summer dress, she is less likely to show her emotions too! As women, YES! We are stong…. but wisdom allows us to know our place and do well in “those places”…..

When I was in high school I also tried out for the ALL BOYS  WRESTLING team because there were a bunch of girls who complained to the principal that there should be an ALL GIRLS WRESTLING TEAM.

The principal said no but talked to the coach and stated for any girl who would try out and was able to MAKE IT could be apart of the team.. When I think of wrestling, I think of MY SON!! Why? Because he is a male.

I tried out and made it but I also chose to QUIT…. I did it “just because” and to prove a silly point but I had enough sense and understanding even while I was young and in HIGH SCHOOL to know that the sport was for males only and I cannot complain if I am a girl on a DOMINATED  MALE sport and cry because someone touched me inappropriately!!

One other girl passed as well and she stayed on the team for 2 weeks and quit because she realized THE TRUTH as well. She never really admitted why she quit but I knew why and others did too!!!!

Women being in MALE dominated roles do this I feel because she wanted to prove something to men and even herself.. She has changed her poodle character for a pit bull and has changed her dainty and sweetheart personality and aura to a Doberman Pincher.

I’m all for women and equality …race equality etc. But fighting to be a CEO v.s. fighting to go undercover for the DEA, be on a Navy Ship with over 2, 000 MEN who are known to be out at sea for several months at a time to wanting to be on the frontline and weighing about 130 – 150 pounds and NOT able to carry their fellow soldiers who will be roughly 220 pounds …JUST IS NOT HAVING WISDOM.

I know and understand to a certain degree how some women may feel via certain positions but when they made G.I. Joe, there was a reason and a statement behind that… and like 50 years later they made G..I. Jane…the movie with Demi Moore as well as the Barbie doll.

Guess what! The doll didn’t sell well and the movie only did well because Demi Moore was a household name via acting but there were NO SEQUALS to the movie or another mock movie was ever made with a women in Navy Seals let alone being on the front line.

5 Seems To Be A Good Number For This –

Being a mentor sometimes do not allow you to have the space nor the breaks that you may SOMETIMES WANT TO GET / HAVE!

However, I have found some easy suggestions to share that always allows people to re-focus on themselves and God as well.

A mentor is a caring, adult friend who devotes time to an individual who desires growth in any given particular area (s). Although mentors can fill any number of different roles, all mentors have the same goal in common: to help people achieve their potential and discover their strengths.

1. Today will be my day!

2. I am the best me there is!

3. I know that I can do it!

4. Believing in myself is a skill that I must master!

5. God will always be with  me!

The calls will slowly but surely slow down after steps 1-5 are done from your mentee (s)….. ( thank goodness! ) LOL

Lastly,

Mentors, Teachers, Case Managers should understand they are not meant to replace a mother, father, pastor, best friend or guardian etc. A mentor is not a disciplinarian or decision maker for a child nor an adult. Instead, a mentor echoes the positive values and cultural heritage parents and guardians are teaching. A mentor is part of a team of caring adults.

A mentor’s main purpose is to help an individual define THEIR OWN personal goals and find ways to achieve them. Since the expectations of each MENTEE vary, the mentor’s job is to encourage the development of a flexible relationship that responds to the mentor’s and the young person’s needs.

Nonetheless, it can indeed be very rewarding……SET BOUNDARIES – BUT ALWAYS SHOW LOVE!
